What is the goal of SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ENGINEERING EDUCATION FOR THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY?

  • To present and debate approaches to institutionalization of sustainability in higher education institutions.
  • To provide a platform for a fruitful and transversal debate among stakeholders on implementation of sustainability in higher education.
  • To promote exchange of ideas, research and experience on the subject of integrating competencies related to social responsibility and sustainability in the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate engineering studies.
  • To discuss ways of introducing new competencies relevant to sustainability and social responsibility in teaching practice.
  • To facilitate the exchange of information and the creation of collaboration networks between university engineering lecturers.
  • To improve the quality of our university teaching.

The scientific program of the conference has been structured in six sessions.

Therefore, the conference aims at shedding light on how to address the following questions: How can academic institutions help us in teaching with sustainable objectives in mind? How can we address the competences of social responsibility and sustainability in undergraduate and postgraduate engineering studies? How can Universities institutionalize sustainability? How can teachers change teaching practices in order to incorporate sustainability perspective in our subjects?
